Hello Readers!
Tomorrow night is Halloween and many of my little readers will be trick-or-treating in their hometowns. I know that in my hometown the weather will be rainy and cold and there are a lot of readers that will be going to parties instead, or visiting locations that are having "trunk-or-treat" events. Either way it's very important to stay safe and there are a few ways that you can do that.
A good idea to help other people and cars see you when you are walking at night is to have some type of glow stick. I have a dollar store in my area and they sell all sorts of glow items. Bracelets, necklaces, glow sticks and wands. There are even packages that have more than one in them so you can share with a sibling or a friend!
I know that trick-or-treating at homes of friends or other people you know feels safe, but remember not to eat ANY candy until after you get home and an adult checks it all!
Remember not to ever go out alone. Please make sure you are with an older sibling or an adult and stay in groups.
Don't EVER take any candy from a grownup that comes up to you while you are walking. This is NOT OK ever! If this happens to you make sure you run away as fast as you can and go find an adult you know.
Remember my adult readers, our children are our most prized possessions. Help keep them safe this Halloween.
Have fun and remember to say thank you!
Happy Reading!
